This was the first of the Aeolian Pipe organ series, and is available while stocks last.
It features the residence organ built originally for Lord Kenneth Crossley, the motor manufacturer from Cheshire. The organ was built by the Aeolian company in 1919 and like most Aeolian organs it includes the capability to play paper rolls, rather like a pianola. This organ was restored and installed in Paul Morris’music room at Blackall Road, Exeter, in 1999.
From Herbert’s mighty “American Fantasie” to Elgar’s well known “Pomp and Circumstance march” the CD is packed with a variety of interesting and tuneful music, and includes organists playing their own work in the 1920s captured on Duo Art paper rolls.
